To know the story behind Clash of Clans, you need to know the history of Supercell, it’s developer. Supercell was born in the Summer months of 2010. In the beginning they formed because of a mutual want- to create games people played not only for days, but for years. Initially, they launched one game, Gunshine.net, with the hope it would be available online, on Facebook, and on your table, or mobile phone. Unfortunately, they quickly realized Gunshine wasn’t meeting their expectations. And with this realization came newfound wisdom. What happened next set them on a rapid path to becoming number one in the mobile game market. By 2012, Supercell had the failure of Gunshine behind them, and with newfound knowledge and wisdom, created “Soil,” a first player farming game that allowed users to interact with one another for ingredients to create different products on their home “farms.” Eventually, Soil was renamed “Hay Day.” By the time Hay Day launched in 2012, it was fairly obvious they had a hit. With this success, Supercell created a new Beta for Canadians to test called Magic, which was eventually renamed Clash of Clans. The game was developed knowing there was a market driven want for strategy games online that allowed you to play in real time. In addition, Supercell wanted to use characteristics of touc interface and to make the game a social experience. Clash of Clans launched globally in 2012, and took only 3 months to reach number one in the United States. While still being a first choice on the market, millions of fans are still drawn to Clash, because of the easy to use interface, the ability to play with friends around the world, and ever changing missions. With this kind of success, several games have followed since, and it’s now obvious that Supercell has found their stride. Personally, I can see myself still playing both Hay Day, and Clash for years to come!
Name's Ryan and I've been playing Clash of Clans almost non-stop for the past 4 years. I've loved it ever since I started playing it. Throughout the years I have achieved big things and collected a lot of game knowledge that I am here to blog about. Other than gaming I also like fishing and drinking great coffee.
